THE PARISH OF BERKHAMSTED St Peter’s with All Saints’ |
news for
pews
THE TENTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY 24 August 2003
Eucharistic Prayer F or G may be used at Holy Communion Services
today
We welcome all who worship here
today. If you are a newcomer please
speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy. We invite you to complete a card which you
will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it
to one of the welcomers. Communicant
members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion. If you are not receiving Communion please
come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.
Collect Lord of heaven and earth, as Jesus taught his disciples to be persistent in prayer, give us patience and courage never to lose hope, but always to bring our prayers before you; through Jesus Christ our Lord
Readings: Isaiah 43.8-13 1 Corinthians 4.9-15
Luke 22. 24-30
Post Communion: God of our pilgrimage, you
have willed that the gate of mercy should stand open for those who trust in
you: look upon us with your favour that
we who follow the path of your will may never wander from the way of life; through Jesus Christ our Lord AMEN
We pray this week
for Christopher our
Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans
for our Church Crèches, Sunday Schools, Pathfinder and Young People’s Fellowship groups and for Little Fishes & Chuckles toddler groups, for all who attend them and for all who help to run them
for the United Society for the Propagation of the
Gospel (and especially Andrew and Janice Proud working in Addis Ababa)
for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved; and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Jenny
Luckhurst, Michael Taylor, Vera Pullen, Christina Billington, Ann Gibb, Pat
Large, Rhoda Janes

those who have died recently:
