ST PETER, THE APOSTLE                                           29 June 2003

Eucharistic Prayer F or G may be used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect  Almighty God, who inspired your apostle Saint Peter to confess Jesus as Christ and Son of the living God:  build up your Church upon this rock, that in unity and peace it may proclaim one truth and follow one Lord, your Son our saviour Christ, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.   AMEN

Readings:  Ezekiel 3.22-end     1 Peter 2.19-25     Matthew 16.13-19

Post Communion:  Lord God, the source of truth and love, keep us faithful to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, united in prayer and the breaking of bread, and one in joy and simplicity of heart, in Jesus Christ our Lord.   AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for Freddie James Whale being baptised today at All Saints’ and for his parents and godparents

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Jim Lawrenson, Brenda Quarmby, Michael Taylor, Susanne Kirkby, Muriel Norman, Christina Billington

for those who have died recently:

and at their anniversaries pray for:  Pamela Dewar, Henry Green

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Castle Gateway

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Fr Mark’s sermons at St Peter’s are normally available from the church table.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
