THE THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER                            4 May 2003

Eucharistic Prayer E is being used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Risen Christ, you filled your disciples with boldness and fresh hope:  strengthen us also to proclaim your risen life and fill us with your peace, to the glory of God the Father.   AMEN

Readings:  Acts 3.12-19     1 John 3.1-7     Luke 24.36b-48

Post Communion:  Living God, your Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread:  open the eyes of our faith, that we may see him in all his redeeming work;  who is alive and reigns, now and for ever.      AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for the Centre for the elderly at Gossoms End, for the Hospice of St Francis and for the Iain Rennie Hospice at home, for those who need care and for those who provide care in many ways.

For Luke Joseph Meaney and Euan John Carruthers who are being baptised today at All Saints’ and for their parents and godparents.

for Emma Bailey, Charlotte Beaumont, Rachael Dell, Joanne Elliott, Juliet Morgan, Charlotte Nelson, Natalie Ruffell, Peter and Joanna Bryant who were Confirmed on Friday

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved; and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Brenda Quarmby, Michael Taylor, Susanne Kirkby, Margaret Trickett, David Jackson, Doreen Jones, Mark Lally, Muriel Norman

and for those who have died recently,

and at their anniversaries pray for:  Joan Currie, Grace Bisset, Margaret Naisbett
