THE SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER                          27 April 2003

Eucharistic Prayer E is being used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Risen Christ, for whom no door is locked, no heart is closed:  open the doors of our compassion, that we may seek the good of others and walk the joyful road of sacrifice and peace, to the praise of God the Father.   AMEN

Readings:  Acts 4.32-35     1 John 1.1 – 2.2     John 20.19-end

Post Communion:  Lord God our Father; through our Saviour Jesus Christ you have assured your children of eternal life and in baptism have made us one with him:  deliver us from the death of sin and raise us to new life in your love, in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.   AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for our Church Crèches, Sunday Schools, Pathfinder and Young People’s Fellowship groups and for Little Fishes & Chuckles toddler groups, for all who attend them and for all who help to run them

for the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (and especially Andrew and Janice Proud working in Addis Ababa)

for Emma Bailey, Charlotte Beaumont, Rachael Dell, Joanne Elliott, Juliet Morgan, Charlotte Nelson, Natalie Ruffell and Peter & Joanne Bryant who are being confirmed at St Peter’s on Friday this week

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Jim Lawrenson, Christina Billington, Brenda Quarmby, Michael Taylor, Susanne Kirkby, Margaret Trickett, Frank Grottick, David Jackson, Doreen Jones, Mark Lally

for those who have died recently:

and at their anniversaries pray for:  Lional Morgan, Geoffrey Mothersole

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Murray Road

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Fr Mark’s sermons at St Peter’s are normally available from the church table.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
